Product Description

The QVIS 5 Port Multi Port Power Supply 12V DC 5A PTC CCTV PSU-5A-5B powers up to five 12V DC devices from one mains-fed box. It is a regulated 12V DC unit with 5 independent ports and a 5A total output.

What the numbers mean for your install

  • 5 ports: one lead per camera or device, all run back to a single, central point.
  • 5A total: this is the combined limit for all five ports, not 5A each. Add up the current draw of everything you connect and keep the total under 5A.
  • 240V AC input: it runs from a UK mains supply.
  • 0°C to +40°C operating range: it is intended for indoor locations within that range.

Protection

PTC stands for Positive Temperature Coefficient. A PTC element resets by itself after a fault, so there is no fuse to replace. The unit also has over-voltage, over-current and short circuit protection.

Before you order

Check that each camera needs 12V DC. Work out the total current of all the devices on the unit. Long cable runs can drop voltage, and that can cause flickering infrared (IR) night images, so use suitable cable and keep runs sensible.

Compliance: CE, FCC and RoHS. Also listed as PSU-5A-5.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 5A rating per port or in total?

It is the total output across all five ports. Add up the current draw of your devices and keep the combined figure within 5A.

Does it need a fuse?

No. It uses PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) technology, which resets automatically after a fault in place of a traditional fuse.

What mains input does it use?

It takes a 240V AC input and outputs regulated 12V DC.

What temperature range can it work in?

It operates from 0°C to +40°C, so it suits indoor locations within that range.
