Product Description
The N52 Neodymium Disc Magnets: 10mm x 2mm Rare Earth are small, flat, high-strength magnets for professional and craft work. Here is what each part of the name means in practice.
What the numbers tell you
- 10mm x 2mm: a disc 1cm across and 2mm thick. It is thin enough to sit in a shallow recess or behind a panel edge.
- N52: the grade. In neodymium magnets a higher number after the N means a stronger material, and N52 is at the top of that scale.
- Neodymium, rare earth: the type of magnet. It gives a strong hold for its size, which is why a disc this small is useful at all.
What else you will need
The magnet is only half of a fixing. It needs something to grip: a steel surface, or a second magnet facing it the right way round. If you want it held in place, plan how you will secure it, for example by setting it into a recess.
Handling
Neodymium magnets are brittle, and two discs can snap together hard enough to chip or pinch. Keep them away from bank cards, electronic media and medical implants such as pacemakers. Slide discs apart rather than pulling them straight.
