TIMCO Classic Wood Screws 3.5 x 40mm Countersunk Pozi Zinc Pack

The TIMCO Classic Wood Screws 3.5 x 40mm Countersunk Pozi Zinc Pack (SKU TIMCO-CLASSIC-SCREW-3.5X40MM) is a single-size fixing pack for wood and plastic wall plugs.

What each spec means on the wall

• 3.5mm x 40mm: 3.5mm thick, 40mm long. One size only, so check it against your bracket or back box holes.
• Countersunk head: the head sinks into the fixing hole and sits flush. A camera bracket, junction box or cable clip lies flat, with no raised head.
• Pozi drive: Pozi is short for Pozidriv, a cross-shaped recess. It transfers torque better and reduces cam-out, which is the driver slipping out of the head.
• Zinc plated: a coating that resists corrosion. It suits indoor installations and protected environments.

What else you need

• A Pozi screwdriver or a Pozi bit for a power tool.
• Plastic wall plugs, if you are not fixing straight into wood.

Where they are used

Installers use this size for CCTV cameras, junction boxes, cable clips and electrical accessories. It also suits structured cabling work, where the fixings are small but numerous.

For a fully exposed outdoor position, think about the conditions first. Zinc plating is rated here for indoor and protected locations.
