Lenovo 4TB 7.2K SATA 3.5" Enterprise HDD 00XH226 02YH047

The Lenovo 4TB 7.2K SATA 3.5" Enterprise HDD 00XH226 02YH047 is an internal hard disk drive (HDD). It installs inside a server or storage system, not on a desk. It is sold under Lenovo part numbers 00XH226, 02YH047 and 03GX258.

What each spec gives you

• 4TB capacity: four terabytes per drive. Suits file servers, backup systems, surveillance storage servers and virtualised environments.
• 3.5-inch form factor: fits the standard enterprise drive bays used in rack-mounted and tower server platforms.
• SATA 6Gb/s: Serial ATA (SATA) interface with a 6 gigabit-per-second link, intended for supported Lenovo systems and storage controllers.
• 7200 RPM: the platters turn 7,200 times a minute, giving stable, consistent performance on general enterprise workloads and sequential data operations.
• RAID-ready: designed for RAID (redundant array of independent disks), where several drives work together for redundancy and storage performance.

What else you need

A Lenovo server or storage system with a free 3.5-inch bay and a SATA-capable controller. For a RAID array, you need more than one drive, so work out the bay count first.

For CCTV, the drive suits recording servers and other surveillance storage that runs continuously. It is also used in storage arrays, file servers and small data centre deployments that need mid-capacity enterprise storage.
